Finalists Challenge present their designs

On 15 November 2025, seven teams presented their designs for the Achille Mbembe Challenge to the competition jury. The jury consisted of Martine Gosselink, historian and director of the Mauritshuis (chair); Daphina Miesidjan, assistant professor of human rights & environment at the International Institute of Social Sciences; Katleen Gabriels, associate professor of philosophy of technology, Maastricht University, and Erica Gargaglione, cultural worker and master in Experimental Publishing (Piet Zwart Institute).

Three school teams and four university teams are competing for the prize for the best design. The winners will be announced on 24 November during the presentation of the Spinoza Lens to Achille Mbembe. This brochure provides an overview of the teams and their designs. Some teams showed a video to the jury. Luuk Schaeffer from Eindhoven had a short film about his design Interface; the student team from the EU Amsterdam made a video for the promotional campaign of their app Sajha Kheti. The pupils of the Pleysiercollege Westerbeek from The Hague also presented their website www.roofkunstarchief.nl with a video.
